Once again, Caitlin's birthday celebration lasted several days...
Here are a few pictures from her birthday party over the weekend, which was a Hawaiian-theme (since we're moving to Hawaii this spring):
Caitlin invited several of her friends from school over to our house, and we did crafts, played games, ate lots, and even broke open a piƱata (eventually!)
Yesterday I treated Caitlin to having her toenails painted:
Last night she started opening her presents (she got some for Valentine's Day, too!):
We began Caitlin's birthday this morning with measuring her on her growth chart:
Then Caitlin and I drove downtown to begin our big birthday adventure- a train ride up the coast!
We took the train up to Oceanside, where we had several hours to walk around until the train home. We started with the surf museum:
There was a special exhibit for Bethany Hamilton, which even included the surf board and bikini she was wearing the day she was attacked. Caitlin was fascinated with her story, and I enforced the moral of never giving up!
Next we walked down the pier, which is supposed to be the longest wooden pier in the world:
We also found a playground on the beach:
Then we walked along the beach for a bit:
Caitlin entertained everyone with dancing while waiting for the train:
Finally the train arrived:
And Caitlin, now an "expert" in trains, led the way!
